Season 2, PopularLauren FrontieraComment

Episode Sneak Peek:

"It's such a fine line between being busy and happy and just being busy and sad or angry or overwhelmed."

What's In This Episode:

Figuring out what works for you and finding happiness is a life-long process.

In today's episode, I'm sitting down with Phyllis Sa, branding + web designer, to dive into her story and ALL the good stuff. Really, you should just stop reading and go listen. But in case you want the cliff notes version before you dive right in, here goes:

Phyllis shares about how becoming a mother for the first time changed everything for her, including work. She goes on to share about her big career transition and the hardest lessons she's learned about herself over the past few years. We also talk about setting healthy boundaries as a people-pleaser and why it's important to make mistakes rather than looking for a shortcut every time.

At the end of our conversation Phyllis shares about her fears about speaking up and voicing her thoughts/opinions, which led to us discussing how difficult this is right now amidst politics and the divisive state of our country. It's such an interesting conversation to have as business owners, and Phyllis shared about the difficulties for her as an introvert, while I shared about the difficulties for me as an extrovert.

This conversation is full of so much goodness and I could go on and on for days about all of the amazing topics we touch on, but just grab your headphones and listen. It'll be way more fun!

"When I was with my family, I never felt like I could leave the work behind, and when I was with my work, I never quite could leave the family behind."

"I had a lot of time to do all of the things I wanted to do and when I wanted to do them, and once I had a baby, I could not define those things for myself anymore."

"Success is not one size fits all."
